The Blood of Jesus:
Happy Good Friday beautiful people,
In remembrance of what Jesus did on this day, well every day of our mortal life,
‘let us set our eyes and visualise the blood dripping down His beautiful, sinless face.’
In reverence, sit in absolute silence….
Let the Spirit of God take over your body, soul and mind….
Withholding nothing, let your heart worship the Messiah,
release your emotions…Cry if you feel like…Just let go
Bible Passage: Luke 22:14-20
Read the passage aloud slowly.
When the meal was prepared, Jesus sat at the table, joined by His emissaries.
The meal that Jesus and His disciples shared is still celebrated today among followers of Jesus. We surround it with varied rituals and music, but the original meal took place in the midst of great drama and tension. The disciples were arguing, and Jesus was teaching them yet another lesson about life in the kingdom of God. Jesus even spoke of His own suffering and their betrayal and denial. Yet through it all, Jesus’ focus remained on the central theme of His life and mission: the coming of the kingdom of God.
Jesus said, “I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins. For I tell you now that I won’t eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.”
Then taking a cup from them He thanked God, and said, “Take this and share it amongst yourselves, for I tell you I shall drink no more wine until the kingdom of God comes.”
The mysterious words which were remembered later
He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then He broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this to remember me.”
After supper He took another cup of wine and said;
“This cup is the new covenant between God and His people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.”
Read the passage aloud a second time, but pretend you are in the room with Jesus as He speak those words. Get into it and read it like you are hearing Him speak as you sit closely to Him. You are looking straight into His eyes as Peter passed you the bread then, Jesus looks directly at you as He lift up the Cup, still looking at you as He speaks; “This cup is the new covenant between God and you- an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you”
Take it in, even though you cannot fathom what just happened.
Fast Forward to few hours later, pretend you are in the crowd when Jesus was getting flogged with a lead-tipped whip, you saw His blood gushing out, then you covered your eyes in compassion.Picture the blood rushing down Jesus’ head as those guards put the crown of thorn (sin) on Him…Matthew 27:26-29
Look at Him while He is getting nailed on the cross.
Now,sit quietly, ponder on these events.
Hebrews 13:12 – Jesus suffered and died outside the gates to make you His child holy – that is where He poured out thesacrificial blood that was brought to God’s altar to cleanse you of your sins.
Jesus, Your blood had to be shed to set me free, I understand, but I can’t fathom why You laid down Yourself as the sacrifice. I know Your blood has paid for my freedom. Indeed, my sins are washed away by Your blood, the blood of the Lamb. Thank You Jesus.
Join me again tomorrow as we Reflect on Grace.
Have the greatest day ever,
Love, Dami E
