When God seems Distant

I will wait for the Lord to help us, though He is hiding now. My only hope is in Him.

Isaiah 8:17

Any relationship involves time of closeness and distance.

David had the closest friendship with God. God called him “a man after my own heart”. Acts 13:22

And yet David complained of God being absence from him. Psalm 10:1

We need to know that God never leaves us even when we feel like He has. Deuteronomy 31:8 reads “Don’t be afraid, for the Lord will go before you and will be with you; he will not fail nor forsake you.”

God did not promise that we will always feel His presence however we should know that He is always present in every situation and He works in mysterious ways. Isaiah  45:15

Remember Job’s story?

Job 23:8-10

Job went through a stage where he asked himself “what is the matter with me?”, “Have I sinned against God?” then he prayed and told God exactly how he feels about everything that was going on then he refocused on who God is – He remembered His unchanging nature. He remind himself that God is good and loving and that He is all powerful and knows every details of his life. That God is in control and He has a plan for his life and He will surely save him.
