There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens

Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

King Solomon said it all. There is a time for everything and I believe everyone goes through a season of waiting. A silent season I like to call “winter” so to say.

Do you remember when you were given a science project at school growing up; when we were learning about the way plants grow? Remember how intrigued you were when you find a tiny bean seed could later burst through the soil as a plant.

I’m sure you have heard about the giant sequoia tree. Remember it was also once a little seed that was buried in the soil.

Seeds planted in the ground will grow just like your faith.

Jesus spoke of our faith in relation to a mustard seed, the smallest known garden seed in those days. And just like every seed, it needs to germinate, and this particular seed can take up to ten days to germinate.

Some plants, like some of our plans, can take a lot longer. Faith is what keeps those dreams alive, even when it seems as though they are dead and buried. But that is the very nature of seeds. They go underground. They disappear! And while it may seem like they are dead, they are not. They are just germinating beneath the surface!

This season of being buried beneath is important to your breakthrough. I did not say it will be comfortable or pleasant but within the years through experience, I have come to a realisation that, I need this season(germinating period) in my life.

Prayer is also like a seed that gets planted in the ground. It disappears for a season, but it eventually bears fruits that last forever. Because God is loyal to His promises to us.

I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!

Isaiah 65:24 NLT

So, although your waiting (germinating season) prolongs even longer, remember God’s promise for you is like a seed and I believe that your season of harvest will come if you continue to plant and water (faith and prayer) daily.

What God has in store for you is worth your patience trust me. And the way it works in God’s Kingdom requires patience. You cannot make things grow. Period. So if God is not done working then you’re not done waiting!

Everyone goes through this season and although it seems like the harvest will never come and the temptation to give up planting and watering creeps in. Please don’t stop! Keep pressing on, keep praying, your harvest will come in God’s time.

Ecclesiastes 3:11: He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
