Are you after Jesus or Religion?

Are you after Jesus or His blessings?

Are you after His Heart every day?

Are you really after Jesus or the title that comes with it? (a Christian, an Evangelist, a Bishop, a Pastor, a Writer, a Worship leader, a Minster etc…)

This walk of faith is so much more than following rules and regulations (commandments) or being a nice person.

This way, this path, this walk of faith is simply about loving Jesus. Everything revolves around you and I loving our Saviour. The sooner we understand this the better.

We need to understand that nothing else matters apart from loving and pleasing our Father.

As believers, we must be mindful not to get carried away with trying to be “Christ-like” or even with the busyness that comes with trying to please God that we actually lose sight of the true purpose why He called us.

Don’t get into the snare of seeking after the reward instead of the giver. That’s a trick from the pit of hell.

My prayer for you this week is that you seek Jesus every moment of your life.

Jeremiah 29:12 ESV… you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord.

Have you stopped seeking the face you first saw when you first encountered Christ? The face that looked upon you with mercy and freed you. The face that pulled you out of the darkness into His marvellous light. Refocus your attention.

No Limitations

Thomas, you have faith because you have seen Me. Blessed are all those who never see Me and yet they still believe.

John 20:29 VOICE

I am so overwhelmed by God’s love, I don’t know about you but He loves us so much and so deep that He asked His own Son to lay down His life for us.

Our lives are full of testimonies, we are alive now because He wants us to be alive…and there is a reason for that.

There comes a time in our lives, when we can’t let the worldly things stop us from proclaiming Christ’s good news and living out God’s glory each day.

No more barriers, no more separation. You and I have the authority to heal and do good works through our Lord, Jesus Christ.

There are no more limitations.

The early Christians stood apart from the culture and suffer social stigmas and physical persecution at times.

Peter challenged the Christian of old to remain faithful to Jesus who also suffered for not conforming. Today, I am also challenging you to stand for God in spite of any trouble you might be facing.

God has the power to make Himself known to all nations and tribes but yet He sent Jesus and now He is sending you. He has given you this power too. What a privilege!

. . . . I have on me the fingerprint of God. Never will there ever be another person like me. . . . I have a job to do in this life that no other can do. – Lygon Stevens

Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment.

Matthew 22:37- 38 NLT

Our world is compartmentalised and we often divide our lives into portions, neatly packaging them away in separate “containers”…work, family, friends…church…faith even our own thoughts… are often viewed as areas of life that are entirely unrelated to God.

This is not the type of relationship God has called us to experience through Christ!

God wants a full access.

Consider how well you could love your spouse, your children and your friends if they allowed you full access to who they are. The good and the bad.

Complete vulnerability – True transparency.

This is the same kind of transparency God is calling us for. An intimate relationship with God who created and love you with His entire self.

He wants ALL of you!

He isn’t  surprised by your faults, mistakes and flaws.

Christ has called me and you to love Him wholeheartedly meaning – even with all our flaws and mistakes He wants us to love Him with our entire body, mind, and soul.

How? You can start by throwing away the “containers” you have created today and ask Jesus to have Lordship over every single aspect of your life.

Transparency is key in any relationship, the more you let go, the more your love deepens. You can be transparent with God too!

God loves you like crazy, withholding nothing back -not even His Son – JESUS

Mind Your Manners

Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Philippians 2:4-5 NLT

The number one way to be pleasing to God and approved by man is to be the servant of all.

Our servant assignment from God is to give honour and preference to one another.

Romans 12:10 says “Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other.”

Regarding others as more important than yourself gives you the mind and manner of  Christ.

Be Humble!

You and I are to move our focus away from self and outward to others. We are to become others-oriented.

To do this, as mundane as it sounds, we have to train ourselves to, for instance, stop talking about ourselves and instead ask about the other person. We may also have to learn some good manners because love has good manners.

1 Corinthians 13:5 says ” Love is not rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable”.

Anne Ortlund says, “There are two kinds of personalities in this world, and you are one of the two. People can tell which, as soon as you walk into a room: your attitude says either ‘Here I am’ or ‘There you are’.”

Keep your manners in check; To make this  happen you must keep your heart in check.  “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” Proverbs 23:7

Remember, as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Are you a “There you are” person, looking around for how you can encourage someone with God’s love? He can make it happen as you let Him grow you into a child after His heart.
