…apart from you I have no good thing
Psalm 16:2 NIV
I recently came across this song SPIRIT LEAD ME by Michael Ketterer & Influence Music and immediately I noted it down as I believe God wanted to speak to you and I about it.
In Psalm 143:10 David prayed,
“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may Your good Spirit
lead me on level ground.”
In this walk of faith, you have to get to a stage when you declare these words with your lips and your heart in prayer. ..
“Without You I am nothing, Holy Spirit lead me”
In Exodus 13:21 God led the children of Israel by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Commentator Arthur Pink draws a significant parallel between this cloud in the wilderness and the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.
Pink points out that just as the cloud was a gracious gift to the Israelites, so the Holy Spirit is a gift to the trusting child of God.
“I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper”
The pillar of cloud was provided to guide the children of Israel. So too, the Holy Spirit leads the Christian. Jesus said, “When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” John 16:13.
Even as the cloud remained with Israel in the wilderness, so Jesus promised that the Father would send the Spirit, who would “abide” with believers forever.
Think about it! God Himself dwells within our hearts. We who know Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord are temples of His Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19.
And when we are led by the Spirit, our lives will be characterised by love, joy, peace, and self-control Galatians 5:16,22-23. We will be effective witnesses for Christ as we travel through the wilderness of this world.
I have concluded that Letting the Holy Spirit lead is good for me. Bible says that God’s wisdom takes us down “pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace” Proverbs 3:17.
It is better to follow where He leads.
